From Acoustic to Beat, ASTERA’s first activity
On 10 September 2026, the NGO Info Centre in Kavadarci hosted “From Acoustic to Beat”, the first activity organised by ASTERA Kavadarci and a music and education event dedicated to promoting music culture among young people in the Municipality of Kavadarci.
Young people had the chance to get hands-on with contemporary Macedonian and international popular music, through a presentation of modern instruments and rhythms and through direct contact with the people who make that music.
Instead of listening from a distance, those present could see the instruments up close, recognise the rhythmic patterns behind songs they already know, and understand how a sound is built.
Part of the evening belonged to young singers and dancers, whose performances spread positive energy and a good mood among everyone present.
That was the point: to open the stage to young people from Kavadarci who are already creating, and to make their work visible in front of an audience from their own town.
Music is one of the most direct languages young people speak. It is also a craft: acoustics, instruments, rhythm, recording, production. That is why it felt natural for ASTERA’s first activity to connect the cultural with the educational, the way we understand our work as a whole.
“From Acoustic to Beat” is the first of what we plan to become a regular programme for young people in Kavadarci and the Tikvesh region.
